mmkay... probably a stupid question since this is a forum dominated by american men... but does anyone have the sex and the city or/and the sopranos dvd collection they'd be willing to burn for me. I am willing to pay for all costs and time spent doing this.

dude, i have better things to spend a few hundred dollars on, like paying of university debt or scrounging around for 400 dollars to pay off my library fines so i can actually go back to university.

You can almost certainly get DVD rips via Bittorrent.
That is what broadband is for. :)

From your previous posts, I guess you haven't got a DVD burner?
Usually a DVD rip is about 350 Mb, so with a
CD burner you can burn 2 episodes per disk.

I've nearly collected all the babylon 5 episodes , am half way through "Sapphire and Steel" and Andromeda.

I will thank you if these torrents work, I will have to wait a few days until I get broadband. I need seasons 1,4,5 and 6(not out on dvd yet tho) and I see they have 1,4,5, so that rocks.

and kat, I got season 2 and 3, and if these work i will have seasons 1-5, you know I don't have a problem burning them for ya, I could even convert em to dvd if they have to be dvd format. you know how to get in touch with me gurl.

This ought to have what you're looking for:
TV Torrents (http://www.tvtorrents.tv/)
It requires a BitTorrent program.

I haven't used BitTorrent before and I don't know what the best client is. slx recommends Shareaza (http://www.shareaza.com/) as a p2p client, which is a multi-network client that supports the BitTorrent protocol.

Google is starting a new search feature that allows you to search for TV shows by way of the closed caption text that exists, so you can find a show simply by remembering the dialogue in it. Right now they have only started with recent American TV shows and networks in their search database.

I did not think it would let you download video archives of your favourite shows only transcripts from my understanding of this relatively new development...but hey even gmail has come full circle now with providing its own pop access (no need for third party updaters anymore) and even have the very cool forwarding email service now.

TV Torrents is down.
However, a good alternative is http://www.bi-torrent.com/

I use Bit Comet.
