View Full Version : how to be a good leader

The best leaders are the ones who are humble and follow the same rules that apply to others. A modest leader is a good leader. Unfortunately many leaders believe that leadership is a route to having special priveleges. They become like feudal lords. I see those types of leaders as the vain type, who see nothing higher than themselves. Rather than being humble servants to a higher cause of which they preside over, they consider their lordship to be the highest cause.

In life we have our opportunities to be in a leadership position. When a new person is hired at work, I don't make the person do all the shitty work while I sit back lazily. And as both a forum and an OpenNap server administrator, I try to hold myself by the same standards that I hold others by. I don't expect people to give me priority in the queues on my own server just because I am the one running the OpenNap server.

It is personality which makes some leaders humble while others are along the lines of feudal lords. Being humble does not make one a weak or ineffectual leader. Rather, the most revered leaders are also the ones who are self-effacing and humble.

Israeli officers are renowned for being on the front lines with their men. However with these terrorist armies the cannon fodder don't even know who their commanders are let alone if they're corrupt and living the good life in safety.

in all the posts, i keep staring at eclecticas avatar... it's highly erotic

as for humble leaders... sometimes leaders who appear humble, are also those capable of the greatest manipulation and damage.
For who one appears to be humble to the people, is then by collective opinoin a humble leader, yet the 'secret' life of a leader is outside of public eyes, and therefore does not really exist in the sense that it does not effect the collective social status of the person.

it reminds me of all those cult leaders... the ones that set up their own community, and the cult leader is out there with the people, sympathising with the people... BEING the people... manipulating the ppl... then comes the grand idea of mass suicide, and while everyone drinks down their poison... who is left to see the leader die? :eatout:

Your avatar is erotic, and that's an understatement. Too bad you live so far away.

My avatar is from a section of Dali's 1929 The Great Masturbator.

Politicians are well versed in the art of deception, to the point of appearing to be good and humble for the sake of likability. It seems that one would be able to tell whether the person is acting or not after a while, but that is not the case if the person is a good actor. We don't know if people are really good because we can't read their thoughts.

A person could live a whole life being good, and the whole thing would be an act. Who knows what evil lurks in the heart of good men? Perhaps even the revered Mother Theresa used to spend her days fantasizing about the tortures that non-believers would suffer when going to Hell? Or if not then she must have been lusting after the phallus magnus of the Masturbating Jesus. ;)

I think that what ultimately causes people to have good traits is selfishness. It is so that one feels good about oneself, that one lives a virtuous life.
