I recently bought three CDs. I was sent on a mission by my wife to get an album by 50 Cent, and while at the record store (Virgin at 14th Street in Manhattan), I picked up the other ones as well.

They were:
50 Cent - Get Rich or Die Tryin' (http://www.allmusic.com/cg/amg.dll?p=amg&uid=10:48:16|PM&sql=Afpftxqrald0e) $15
Afro-Mystik - Morphology (http://www.allmusic.com/cg/amg.dll?p=amg&uid=11:02:03|PM&sql=Act8ibkk9sakx) $14
Beastie Boys - Licensed to Ill (http://www.allmusic.com/cg/amg.dll?p=amg&uid=11:00:44|PM&sql=A34rp283c054a) $13
I bought the Afro-Mystik one because I was in the "electronica" section and it looked interesting. Also in the store I spotted the Beastie Boys album and thought it would be fun to get it, because I remembered it from when I was younger.

I ended up not liking the Beastie Boys album, and I gave it to someone at work. I found their singing and music to be too annoying. I moderately like the Afro-Mystik album, enough to keep, but not enough for me to want to get other albums by them.

Here are songs from the two albums I kept:
50 Cent - In da Club.mp3 (http://napsterite.org/eclectica/mp3/50 Cent - Get Rich Or Die Tryin%27 - In Da Club.mp3) 4 MB
Afro-Mystik - Momentary Visions (http://napsterite.org/eclectica/mp3/Afro-Mystik - Morphology - Momentary Visions.mp3) 7 MB

"In da Club" is the most popular from the 50 Cent album, and is catchy that it makes you want to dance to it. My one-year old daughter does. Another good one from the same album, for the instrumentation, is "Heat".

I'm suprised in your musical taste...I didn't think you were the type into rap...

and for the record, 50 Cent sucks

I haven't bought too many CDs lately. I buy World music sometimes. I have a list of all my CDs but I have to update it and organize it. My daughter put my CDs all over the house.
